BANQUET
Every spring for the past 74 years, the CTSC has hosted its annual Scholarship & Achievement Awards banquet. Here the CTSC presents its annual Professionals Awards as well as distributing scholarships to Northeast Ohio's best and the brightest STEM students – as nominated by their teachers.
STUDENTS
HONOR JUNIORS
Every year, the Cleveland Technical Societies Council invites teachers at high schools from throughout Northeast Ohio to nominate one high school junior as the outstanding STEM student in their school.
These students are designated Honor Juniors. Due to Covid restrictions there will be no spring banquet for the Honor Juniors to attend. However, the CTSC is planning a special program to recognize this year's Honor Juniors.
The following year, these Honor Juniors are eligible to apply for a CTSC scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Every year the CTSC awards $1,500 merit-based scholarships to the top STEM students from throughout Northeast Ohio. Applicants for these scholarships have been selected by their teachers as the best and brightest of their classes.
An independent committee of CTSC representatives evaluates the scholarship applications and selects recipients. All recipients are invited to attend that year’s Scholarship and Achievement Awards banquet to accept their awards.
Only CTSC Honor Juniors are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Honor Juniors are notified in late January of their senior years with application information.
COLLEGE FAIR
At the annual CTSC Scholarship and Achievement Awards spring banquet, representatives from area colleges and universities have an opportunity to meet directly with the top science and math students in Northeast Ohio to acquaint them their various science-related curricula.
Participating colleges can be assured of meeting only with the best and the brightest STEM students in Northeast Ohio and their nominating teachers.
